The Company

Founded in 2008 and led by a team of Internet entrepreneurs and engineers, CaptchaAd is a rapidly growing startup company that is serving an exponentially growing number of video advertising campaigns every month.  We are achieving this growth by enabling brand advertisers to execute smart video ad campaigns across the industry’s leading publishers for their premier brands.  

In the past 6 months, CaptchaAd has been listed among Germany’s top 10 technology startups by multiple European and US entities including:  Financial Times, TechCrunch, Intel Corporation, Sun Microsystems, enable2start 2009, IBTEC 2009 - The Intel®+UC Berkeley Technology Entrepreneurship Challenge2nd Place Start up of the year 2009, Deutsche-Startups.de. The company is headquartered in Bonn Germany with offices in San Francisco and London.

Although recent in company creation, the idea behind CaptchaAd was born in early 2007 when Michael Keferstein, Jan Philipp Hinrichs and Thomas Zumtobel were trying to find the best way to reach onling gaming audiences by generating the most value out of video content in a user-friendly manner.  At the time, the three were involved in advising entertainment properties and realized that CAPTCHAs were both an obstacle and opportunity if sites could harness the power of the medium for video advertising purposes – and thus the CaptchaAd idea was born.
